NEW bus service improvements have been praised by Cllr Alan Amos.
First Buses are introducing a number of improvements and new services from Sunday October 8, developed in partnership with Worcestershire County Council.
Route 44 will run every 15 minutes via the existing route, maintaining links to St Johns and Malvern.
The main improvement is that there will now be two buses an hour going down the Bromwich Road, an area which is currently not served by any buses.
In addition to the improvements in Bromwich Road, the 44 will now go directly to the Worcester Royal Hospital.
There will now be express services (X43 and X44) which will ensure that passengers can get to Worcester and Malvern much quicker.
Cllr Amos, who represents Bedwardine said: "I totally support these fantastic improvements. From October, bus users will be able to enjoy faster and more reliable journeys and in some areas increased level of services which are the most important factors to them.
"I am particularly pleased that the no. 44 has been extended to the Royal Hospital making it so much easier for staff, patients, and visitors to get there; and also the new twice hourly services on the no. 44 along Bromwich Road in Worcester will now provide public transport for hundreds more people in the Bedwardine area who currently do not have any bus service at all."
