A CLEANER has offered to remove graffiti for free after a 'tagging' spree in the city.
Craig Ellis, aged 32, owner of Fusion Industrial Cleaning Services, said the graffiti needs to be washed away as soon as possible.
Mr Ellis, of Gorse Hill Road, Worcester, contacted the Worcester News after reading about the vandalism on Facebook.
A vandal has sprayed 'FBS' onto walls outside a retirement home, in St Oswald's Road, and on the side of a menswear shop, in Sansome Walk.
Locals want the graffiti community to identify the person responsible for the vandalism, which happened this weekend.
Mr Ellis said: "It's just a nuisance. Depending on what they are using it can be a nightmare to lift, with brickwork being quite porous.
"It's terrible what's been done, the fact that we can help out means we are more than willing to do that.
"If we can get it quick enough...before it settles in...we should be able to remove 98 per cent of it.
"We have all the equipment in the company to remove stuff like that. We have done graffiti removal before. It's probably a day's work.
"We have got high powered jet washers that we use. We would treat the graffiti first and then blast it away."
Cllr Joy Squires, city councillor for the Arboretum ward, said: "It's a generous offer. The complication is that we need the property owner's permission.
"We just need to put everything in place to see if the offer can be taken up.
"Everybody assumes the city council just turn up and clean the graffiti but we need the property owner's permission."
Mr Ellis started Fusion Industrial Cleaning Services just over a year ago.
The vandalism has been reported to the police and anyone with information can ring 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
