THE opening date has been confirmed for a £1 million addition to the city's restaurant scene.
Côte Brasserie, which is based in Worcester's High Street, will officially open its 160 cover branch on Monday, January 9.
Around 50 new jobs have been created at the restaurant, based on the site formerly occupied by Edwards Bar and Kitchen, which suddenly shut earlier this year.
Alex Scrimgeour, chief executive officer at Côte Restaurants, said: "We are thrilled to be opening right in the centre of Worcester and we look forward to bringing our friendly, professional service and great value food to this thriving town.
"It's a wonderful way for Côte to begin 2017."
The new restaurant, which serves Parisien-inspired food, is located close to where the construction work for the new £20 million Cathedral Square development is taking place.
The development will feature seven new restaurants when it is completed before the end of 2017.
Among the new restaurants taking a spot in the Cathedral Place development are Bryon Hamburgers, Ask, steakhouse Miller and Carter and casual dining chain Cosy Club.
