THE operator of Perdiswell Leisure Centre, which is currently undergoing a £10.5 million refurbishment, is offering local businesses the chance to sign up their workers for corporate memberships.

Freedom Leisure, which runs the centre for Worcester City Council, says that staff and employers alike will benefit from the group memberships.

The corporate membership will extend to Freedom Leisure's centres across Worcestershire, including Sport Dyson Perrins and the Splash in Malvern, and St Johns Sports Centre and Nunnery Wood Sports Centre in Worcester.

Area manager Lee Thomas said: “We are hugely excited about the redevelopment of Perdiswell Leisure Centre and know that we are very lucky in Worcestershire to have seven great centres.

"With a corporate connected membership, local workers will be able to use all seven sites, meaning they can choose different centres and classes to suit their schedule.

"Whether coming from home or work there will be a site close by. We find that people stick to exercise better if they can work it into their daily routine; tagging it onto the beginning or end of their working day, or even during a lunch break is best.”

“It is well-known that workers who exercise are fitter, healthier and happier, resulting in less sickness absence which can only be good news for local employers, not to mention the short term benefit of working after exercise - which is increased concentration and productivity throughout the day. We are calling out to all local business owners and managers to find out more.”

The refurbished Perdiswell centre is due to open in January, with a new eight-lane 25-meter swimming pool with separate training pool, new fitness suite and indoor cycling studio.
