THE chance to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace was an honour, says a Worcester man.
Adrian Field, head of Worcester BID, was nominated to attend the garden party for his work with the city's business community.
Mr Field, who attended the last of the annual garden parties on Tuesday with his wife Faye, was nominated by Michael Clarke, a former chairman of VisitWorcester.
They were joined at the garden party by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
Mr Field said: "After being informed of the nomination, quite unexpectedly in January, the invitation was a huge honour and the day itself was one to treasure forever.
"To be among other people who have all contributed so positively to society in such a variety of ways was humbling.
"The atmosphere was wonderful and very English and I am very lucky to undertake a role at Worcester BID which can make a difference to businesses locally and which I love.
"We were lucky to have seen Prince William attend his first Garden Party as well and the level of attentiveness all of the Royals gave to their guests was quite noticeable.
"The Queen can also be very proud of her Victoria Sponge cake too – it was delicious!"
Each summer, the Queen invites thousands of people to the garden parties in the palace grounds, usually as a way of thanking them for their services to the community.
