CHILDREN from Pershore schools took part in an annual swimming gala at Pershore Leisure Centre.
Year 4 and 5 pupils from St Barnabas, Cherry Orchard, Abbey Park First School and Abbey Park Middle School all took part but it was Eckington who got their hands on the trophy after a morning of swimming.
The gala began with the front crawl events, followed by backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke before the freestyle relay as the final event.
The gala on Friday, April 15 was completed with a ‘fun race’, where two pupils were towed the length of the 25m pool on a large float.
Ailsa Deakin, teacher at Abbey Park Middle School said: ''Now in its third successful year, the schools’ swimming gala was enjoyed by all the staff and pupils.
"There was a great competitive and community spirit attached."
