ARMED police were sent to the Langland area of Malvern on Tuesday to capture a wanted man.
Residents of the area commented on social media about the police presence, which was sent is as a result of an intelligence tip-off.
In a statement, South Worcestershire Police said: "West Mercia Police conducted a thorough search in the Malvern area on Tuesday in relation to a man wanted on recall to prison for breach of his licence arrangement.
"A risk assessment was undertaken, and it was deemed that armed police were required as a matter of precaution to ensure the public were protected from harm.
"No weapons were found and a 32-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was quickly located, arrested and has since been returned to prison."
The police would not say what time the operation took place.
