CHILDREN from across Hereford and Worcestershire have taken part in the second county wide schools’ debating competition organised by Bosbury CE Primary School.
Over 50 children travelled from all corners of the counties to join teams to debate current affairs in the competition on Wednesday, March 10.
Bosbury headteacher Maggie Spence said: “For a second year running we were attempting to raise the profile of debating and democracy amongst the children in the county.
“This will be an annual event showcasing the skills of the amazing young people in our schools.”
The competition was won by a team of six children from Great Malvern who debated whether schools should have pets. The Great Malvern team fought off stiff competition from Bosbury, Stanley Road, St Barnabus, Eastnor, Ledbury, Ashperton and Colwall.
The competition was judged by author Steve Elsworth, cyber bullying expert Jason Stanton and councillor Melanie Baker.
