A student from Pershore has competed in the RLSS UK National Speed Championships 2016 along with other members of South Worcester Lifeguards.
Pershore High School Amy Weston, aged 14, from Flyford Flavell, performed well and came in the top six of all the disciplines and medalled in the 100m Rescue Medley, during which the national record was broken which had stood since 2011.
Amy achieved a personal best in three out of the four races and, for the second year running, was invited to join the GB Performance Squad and will hopefully go on to represent GB at more lifesaving events later this year.
Other members of the team who also attend Pershore High School were Jack Betteridge, Luke Betteridge and James Bower.
