FOUR tonnes of waste in the back of a rubbish lorry caught fire in Worcestershire today.
Firefighters tackled the fire with one hose reel jet before using a JCB to turn over the waste and dampen it down.
The incident took place at about 3pm in Main Road, Fladbury.
Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Evesham attended the scene.
Member of the public Anthony Corfield, who witnessed the fire, said: "The fire engine went past us and the firefighters started hosing down the rubbish, as the bin lorry was emptying onto the road.
"There were no flames, just smoke as the waste was being tipped out.
"It wasn't especially dramatic sadly."
