PROUD parents ventured in to Worcester city centre today to get their child in the running to be crowned Baby of the Year.

Professional photographers were on hand in CrownGate to take pictures of the babies who will hope to win readers' hearts this year.

Each year your Worcester News receives hundreds of entries to the competition which asks readers to cast their votes for the most lovely little one.

Official competition photographers, Fraser Portraits, will be in the shopping centre in Friary Walk until Saturday, March 7, and parents can take their children to them to be photographed for free.

The photographers will be on hand from 10am to 4pm and the competition is open to all children aged 0-36 months who live in Worcestershire.

Sarah Bevan, promotions manager at the Worcester News, said: “This year we are once again inviting readers to bring down their babies to our official photographers, Fraser Portraits, to have their babies photographed absolutely free for our annual Worcester News Baby of the Year competition in association with CrownGate.

"The full colour supplement containing all the photos will be published in the Worcester News at the end of March.

"There are some great portrait prizes to be won.”
