PRIZES from a Golden ticket competition in Worcester have been handed out to the lucky winners.
The prize draw was organised as a reward to people who visited Worcester city centre during the Christmas period.
The first prize of an iPad Air was won by Michelle Jenkins, who got her ticket from Mexican restaurant Amigo’s in Friar Street.
She said: "I am absolutely thrilled to win the iPad Air. I live locally and go to Amigo’s regularly. Entering the Worcester BID Golden Ticket prize draw certainly has been worth it.”
More than a thousand entries were received by the Christmas campaign organisers from Worcester Business Improvement District (BID), a private sector partnership funded by city centre businesses, and all prizes for this prize draw have been sourced locally.
The iPad Air was donated by Broad Street based business AT Computers.
Bob Nock from Hallow won second prize, a three course meal for two at Saffrons Bistro in New Street.
He picked up his ticket at Rock Lobster Jewellery in Reindeer Court.
Third prize went to Nicolette Neville-Lee of Worcester who won a bottle of Prosecco at local brasserie Bindles in Sidbury after getting a ticket in House of Fraser in CrownGate.
Nadja von Dahlen, Worcester BID events and marketing officer, said: “We would like to thank everyone for their entries and their great support of Worcester’s local businesses during the Christmas period.
"Businesses have been really enthusiastic about the prize draw, as it was a great opportunity to give something back to their customers.”
