A man accused of sex offences assaulted a woman in his bathroom after she had been naked in the shower with him at his Worcester home, a jury has been told.
The woman said Darren Purchase had been a friend but they had not seen each other for more than twelve months when he sent her a text message asking to meet.
She told Worcester Crown Court he picked her up on his motorbike and took her to his home. She went because he sounded lonely and she "felt sorry" for him.
The house was empty except for a mattress in a downstairs room and he told her he was having trouble paying the rent. He said he had been arrested over sex charges and he asked the woman to read through the legal papers.
She sat on the toilet in the first floor bathroom and read the papers while he had a shower. He suggested she get undressed and get in with him to wash his back. She agreed but got out when he started masturbating. As she was getting dressed, he tried to have sex with her.
He then left after getting a phone call and she watched TV until he returned because she could not get home, she told the court. When he got back, they sat and talked until later in the afternoon when he again made sexual suggestions before raping her.
She said she thought he would not try anything else and although she had not felt comfortable, she stayed the night while he played games on his X Box. He took her home the next morning.
Purchase, aged 44, of Hayfield Close, St John's, denies 22 sex offences including rape, buggery and indecent assault between 1984 and 2011. He is accused of abusing eight females and one male.
The woman denied a suggestion by Jason Aris, defending Purchase, that she had stayed with him at his home because she had willingly had sex with him. She also denied that she had invented the allegations because she knew he was under investigation for similar offences and she thought she might get financial compensation.
