A NEW blues explosion will rise from the ashes of a popular band with a bang this month.

Oliver Carpenter and Abby Brant, who used to be part of The Big Blues Tribe, lead a select group of Midland musicians in their new venture Stomp & Holler.

They bring their brass, blues and six strong voices to the Market Theatre, in Ledbury, on Saturday, November 3 from 8pm with a sound reminiscent of the floor-filling music of New Orleans.

Bold and brassy, the rhythm section of Chris Lomas and Martin Ball drives the band along with Abby on piano, Lee Evans on guitar, saxophonist John Sanderson and Worcester-based Oliver providing a forceful stage personality.

Entry is £10, or £6 for students, with tickets from the theatre box office on 01432-383663 or at themarkettheatre.com.

The colourful group then visit Worcester’s Marr’s Bar, in Pierpont Street, on Friday, November 16.
