A WORCESTER supermarket is at the centre of a bizarre food-fight ritual in which staff are locked in a metal cage and pelted with eggs, flour and sugar on their last day at work.
The messy ritual is believed to involve one of the Tesco stores in Worcester and the company is now "investigating" the incidents following a story in a national newspaper yesterday.
There is even a video on their website showing a man being sprayed with a fire extinguisher and having flour poured over his head, although this is not believed to be from either of the Worcester stores.
Tesco was unable to confirm which store was at the heart of the probe.
Tesco has two superstores in Worcester - Millwood Drive, Warndon Villaes, and St Peter's Drive - as well as numerous express stores.
The national newspaper also alleges that the prank is taking place nationwide from Falkirk to Kent.
A spokesman for Tesco said: "It was just an isolated incident. We're taking an urgent look at the footage and are taking it very seriously. We are investigating all the stores in the article, including Worcester."
