A CAMPAIGN is taking place in Worcester to promote the diversity and quality of the city’s independent businesses.
Called Uniquely Worcester, it is being organised by the Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) and will run until November 2.
More than 60 businesses will be showcasing their products and services, providing special offers and organising in-store activities.
Worcester BID manager Adrian Field said: “Independents are the life and soul of a city centre and give Worcester its distinct character.
“We want to encourage people to have a look in areas they may not have seen before.”
Nadja von Dahlen, Worcester BID marketing and events officer, added: “We want people to know that you can find stockists, for example for Hugo Boss, Paul Smith, LouenHide handbags and Danish fashion designer Malene Birger here in Worcester.
“Not forgetting our high quality delis and award-winning cafes and restaurants, who take pride in using locally sourced products for their delicious dishes. “Worcester even has a shop dedicated to everything left- handed.”
Businesses taking part in the campaign can be spotted by their ‘Uniquely Worces-ter’ bunting and posters.
Businesses are spread throughout the city centre and are from a variety of sectors, including fashion, food and drink, health and beauty, arts and crafts, attractions, travel, pubs and clubs.
On Saturday, October 26, and November 2 there will be a host of activities in the city centre with food tasters by local restaurants, live music, fashion shows, competitions and in-store activities.
