A MAN and a woman have died after being hit by a car.
The man and woman, both believed to be in their 40s and on foot, were hit by a blue Ford Focus last night on Longdon Hill, Wickhamford, near Evesham.
They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 58-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.
He has been released on police bail until July 16.
The victims' next of kin have been informed, but full identification has yet to take place.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened at around 9.40pm.
A road closure was put in place between A46-A44 roundabout at Evesham and the Childswickham roundabout at about 10.40pm while the emergency services attended.
The road was re-opened at 3.30am this morning.
Anyone who was in the area of saw anything leading up to the incident is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 691s of Sunday, May 1.
