A RECYCLING truck has broken down in Abberley, near Stourport-on-Severn, this morning.
The vehicle broke down during its usual route at around 9.30am, and is currently parked in The Village, near the Manor Arms Inn.
Fluid - thought to be hydraulic oil - has spilled from the vehicle onto the pavement and teams are on the scene to deal with the problem.
Resident Phil Blakemore, 68, from The Village, said: "Vehicles can get round but they have had to put sand down and cat litter down to try and soak it [the liquid] up. There is a couple of vans now to try and help clear it up.
"The locals are chipping in and giving cups of tea to the drivers. I gave them a tray of tea this morning as well.
"It is not having any impact because they managed to park it on the square so vehicles can get past it. I think they have lost pretty much all their hydraulic oil in the vehicle."
The recycling truck is thought to belong to Malvern Hills District Council.
