An ex-lawyer who turned to running after being made redundant during Covid is to take part in the Olympics.
Former corporate law employee, Rose Harvey, will represent Team GB in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Ms Harvey said: "Like many others, I was made redundant during lockdown, so I needed a lockdown project. I set myself the lofty goal of making the Surrey County running team.
She gained significant attention at the 2021 Cheshire Marathon where she showed remarkable mettle and endurance, earning a time of 2:30 hours.
Ms Harvey continued: "I never got to run for Surrey, as that time won me an invitation to the England half marathon team."
Further demonstrating her outstanding performative abilities, she represented Great Britain at the World Championships, before going on to became the British Champion at the highly competitive and prestigious 2022 London Marathon.
After turning professional in 2022, Ms Harvey secured sponsorship from Puma. By October 2023, she made the British all-time list after finishing the Chicago Marathon in 2.23hr.
Having now been selected by Team GB to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Ms Harvey said: "I am beyond excited to have been selected for the Great Britain team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The road to Paris has begun!
"Of course, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone in my team who has believed in me and supported me along the way.
"Follow your dreams. They might just become your reality."
