A NEW escape room experience is set to open in Kidderminster town centre.
Kidderminster Escape Rooms will open at the former Teach Me Music Academy site on Worcester Street.
An official opening date has not yet been set, but owner Adam Buick hopes it will be welcoming puzzle-loving customers in May.
Adam runs Holt Heath-based Top Escape Rooms and wanted to expand into a town centre location.
He has taken on the lease for the Kidderminster unit and is currently building the first of three escape rooms.
The opening will create eight part-time and two full-time jobs.
Adam, aged 57, said: "We've always been the closest escape room to Kidderminster, so we decided it would be a good move to open up in the town.
"We have five escape rooms at Holt Heath and we will have three in Kidderminster.
"We are really excited about opening in Kidderminster - we have watched the development of the town and it is really raising its profile.
"It's crying out for leisure activities."
Adam, who spent 25 years as a tribute act to Meatloaf and Blues Brothers and who ran his own entertainments agency, started Top Escape Rooms five years ago, just before the pandemic hit.
The first room at Kidderminster will be called Mystic Temple, where participants must find the ancient artefact before the ruins crumble.
The second will be called Rock Stars Revenge in tribute to the former occupiers of the unit and the third, which is hoped will be open by Christmas, will be called Jingle Joy Ride.
The escape rooms are suited to age 12 and over and are aimed at the adult market.
Escape rooms are designed to be fun, active puzzles designed in clue or riddle form and are a new craze sweeping the nation.

Teach Me Music Academy will remain onsite, but will be on the first floor.
