A LAUNCH night for the Worcester Warriors Supporters' Trust is set to be held this week.
On Friday, December 1, the newly established supporter's trust will be hosting its launch event at Worcester Rugby Football Club, where people can sign on to become members.
As of today (Monday, November 27), a post was made on the supporters' trust website, saying that the membership continues to grow steadily with a total of over 200 new members.
Former BBC presenter and Worcester Warriors fan Dave Bradley, will be hosting the event - which will include an auction full of Worcester Warriors memorabilia.
The event will also serve as an opportunity to meet members of the Worcester Warriors Supporters' Trust board, to learn about the progress of the organisation and its plans for the future.
The event will also include a raffle, and street food options.
As it stands, both the Warriors' men's and women's team are no longer active following the club going into administration back in September 2022.
In May, a group of Warriors supporters and some advisers from football supporters' trusts met for the first time, before organising a public meeting where a vote received unanimous backing to form a supporters' trust.
The group expanded in July and submitted an application to the Financial Conduct Authority to become formally incorporated as a Community Benefit Society.
In August, the trust was registered with the FCA, and later in the month, it submitted an application to Wychavon District Council to nominate Sixways Stadium as an asset of community value.
The public were first invited to become members of the supporters' trust on Tuesday, November 2.
The trust has also pledged to donate £5 to the Worcester Warriors Foundation for every new member that joins between now and Sunday, December 31.
Membership for adults starts at £20 per year and this gives the right to vote at WWST meetings and elections and to stand for Board Membership. There are higher-priced tiers for those who feel they can donate a little more money to the cause.
Young people (under 16) are also invited to join for just £5 per year. Voting rights cannot be granted for this age group but they, like adult members, will have access to a Members Forum and Members area on the website.
