An opticians in Droitwich is on the hunt for new talent following the success of one apprentice.

Specsavers in St Andrews Square is welcoming potential apprentices following Hasna Ahmed's recent completion of her 13-month optical apprenticeship last month.

The programme, designed for anyone above the age of 16 seeking a fresh start, whether a fresh out of college or college or someone seeking a career change, also offers degree level apprenticeships taking three to four years to complete.

Store director, Emma Singh said: "The apprenticeship programme offers a great career entry point for those either looking to kickstart or change their careers.

"It provides scope for learning and development and allows people to unlock their full potential in a professional yet supportive working environment."

Ms Ahmed described her experience as rewarding and credited the supportive in-store team for her success.

She said: "Completing my apprenticeship was an incredibly rewarding experience and I feel very fortunate to have received such valuable experience working alongside the supportive in-store team.

"As a confused teen, I wasn’t sure what to do until my sister encouraged me to apply for the apprenticeship.

"Since starting the programme, I’ve discovered a newfound passion for optical care and now have some amazing career paths to choose from."

Commenting on Ms Ahmed's success, Ms Singh said: "We’ve all been incredibly impressed with the hard work and determination shown by Hasna and we feel extremely fortunate to have her on our team.

"As Hasna has now completed the programme, we would love to hear from anyone else in the community who may be interested in kickstarting their own apprenticeship journey with us."

The opticians is not only seeking apprentices, but also part-time optical assistant and administration roles.

Prior experience in optics or retail isn't crucial as full training is provided.
